Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Post Production Scheduler (the “Service,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our web application at postproductionscheduler.com and related domains. Post Production Scheduler is a planning tool that helps television and film post-production professionals generate and manage schedules and budgets.
1. Our privacy-first approach
Post Production Scheduler is local-first. The projects you create — your schedules, budgets, task data, and related settings — are stored on your own device in your web browser, and, only if you choose, in a local folder you select or in your own Google Drive. We do not collect, transmit, or store your project data on our servers. We do not operate a database of your projects, and we cannot see the contents of your schedules or budgets.
2. Information we collect
Because your project content stays with you, the information we collect is limited to the following:
a. Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. This collects standard analytics information such as your device and browser type, general (city/region-level) location inferred from your IP address, and interactions with the app. We also record a small, curated set of feature-usage events, currently:
- which production mode is selected (for example, TV Hour-Long or Feature Film);
- which view is opened (Gantt, Waterfall, Calendar, or Budget); and
- whether a budget was edited during a session.
These events contain no project content and no personal identifiers — only broad categorical labels. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to measure usage. Analytics is disabled automatically in environments that don’t support it (such as certain private-browsing modes).
b. Hosting and security logs
Our website is served through Firebase Hosting (a Google service). Like most web hosts, it automatically logs standard technical request data — such as IP address, browser user-agent, and timestamps — for reliability, abuse prevention, and security.
3. Google Drive integration
Connecting Google Drive is entirely optional. If you choose to connect it:
- We request only the
drive.filepermission, which grants the app access solely to the files it creates or that you explicitly open with it — never to the rest of your Google Drive. - We use this access only to save and sync your own project files to your own Google Drive, so you can access them across devices.
- Access tokens are held only temporarily in your browser (roughly one hour, with no long-term storage) and are never sent to or stored on our servers. We store no information about your Google account or Drive contents.
- You can disconnect at any time from within the app, or revoke access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Files already saved to your Drive remain there and are managed by you.
Google API Services — Limited Use. Post Production Scheduler’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer or use Google user data to serve advertising, and we do not allow humans to read this data except with your explicit consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or as part of internal operations where the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
4. Storage on your device
To make the app work offline and preserve your work, we use browser storage technologies — including IndexedDB and local storage — to keep your projects on your device. If you use the “save to a folder” feature, we access only the folder you explicitly grant, through your browser’s File System Access permission. This information stays on your device; clearing your browser data, or removing the folder, deletes it.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar identifiers only for the analytics described above. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites. You can block or clear cookies through your browser settings; the app will continue to function without them.
6. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate the Service:
- Google — for website hosting (Firebase Hosting) and usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase); and
- Google Drive — only if you connect it, and only your own files, as described above.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
7. Data retention
Your project data persists on your device (and in your chosen folder or Google Drive) until you delete it. Analytics and hosting log data are retained according to Google’s standard retention practices for those services.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can use the app without connecting Google Drive.
- You can disconnect Google Drive and revoke its access at any time.
- You can clear your locally stored projects through the app or your browser.
- You can limit analytics using your browser’s privacy settings or a tracker-blocking extension.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain accounts or a server-side store of your project data, most such data is already under your direct control. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).
10. Security
Keeping your project data on your own device and in your own accounts substantially reduces its exposure. We rely on reputable providers (Google) for hosting and analytics, and transmit data over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International users
The Service is operated from, and hosted on infrastructure that may be located in, the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
